The Solebury 10-year-old baseball tournament team earned titles in Amwell and Flemington after posting an 8-3-1 record in the travel season.
In the Amwell Tournament, Solebury went unbeaten in pool play, outscoring its four opponents by a combined 59-10 margin.
After winning big in the semifinals, Solebury fell behind against Princeton, 4-1, before rallying for a 6-5 win in extra innings. Nate Wilson’s monster double in the seventh inning was the key blow.
Solebury also marched through the opening rounds in Flemington for a 4-0 record in pool play. After winning 6-4 in the semifinals, Solebury held on to outscore the tournament host, 13-10, for the championship.
All nine pitchers contributed in the two tournaments, with leadership coming from Matt Paulus, Danny Freeman, Brendan Shadle, Griffing and Wilson. Offensive contributions came from Mardirossian, McKenna,Doherty, Fest and Stadler.
